The government is set to table remaining three labour codes in the upcoming Monsoon session of the Parliament which will begin on 14 September, reports Economic Times.
The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2019, Code on Social Security 2019 and the Industrial Relations Code 2019 along with the already passed Code on Wages, 2019 will together help put an end to the hundreds of labour laws by consolidating them into four broad codes.
The first of the four bill, Code on Wages, was approved by the Parliament last year.
Each of the four codes has been structured to subsume under it a stream of varied other Acts of the Parliament, reducing the regulatory and compliance burden on industries and businesses, boosting the ease of doing business in the nation.
The labour law reforms have been a long-advocated need from various industry bodies and different government committees in the past have talked of it. The passage for the pending three codes and their implementation will complete the ongoing efforts towards the labour law reforms and will help the nation become more business-friendly and an attractive investment destination.
