Laddoos-To-Lakes: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Plans Infrastructure Worth Rs 140 Crore

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthan (TTD) has planned to construct a new Laddu Kitchen on the banks of the north-west tank of the temple, after being briefed by the board about the meeting held at Annamaya Bhavan on 27 November 2018, The New Indian Express has reported.

This modern facility will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 21.75 crore said TTDs chairman Putta Sudhakara Reddy. Further, he added, “financial and administrative sanction for the project has already been given.”

Avilala tank is being built to make Tirupati a Lake City. TTD has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for that. Tenders worth Rs 42.71 crore have been approved for the same and the first phase work includes basic earthwork, and boundary formation has been completed.

Pay scale has been set by the trust board to incentivise outsourced and contract workers. The categories will be Rs 7,500 to Rs 11,000 for unskilled workers, Rs 9,500 to Rs 12,000 for semi-skilled workers and Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000 for skilled workers.

TTD Board has also decided to build a Gopuram, compound wall and some small construction at Avanakshamma Temple in Narayana Vanam Chittoor district and cleared Rs 2.5 crore for the same. An arch for Gangamma temple also has been planned for Rs 28 lakh. A new temple of Lord Venkateswara is to be built in Bhubaneswar at an estimated cost of Rs 4.19 crore.

TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, Endowments Commissioner Dr M Padma, Trust Board members Sudha Narayana Murthy, Swapna, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and many other trustees were present for the meeting.
