London Attacker: Khalid Masood, Aged 52, British National, Convicted Before

Identity of the man responsible for the terrorist attack outside Parliament of the United Kingdom (UK), causing the death of three persons and injuring over 40, has been revealed. Khalid Masood was a 52-year-old man born in the UK and convicted for crimes before.

According to a report in Metro, Masood had prior “convictions for assaults, including grievous bodily harm, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.” He was also known by a number of aliases, said the police.

He was first convicted, according to the Metro report, in November 1983 for criminal damage. His last conviction came 14 years ago, in December 2003, for possession of a knife.

British Prime Minister Theresa May had earlier revealed part of the identity of the assailant in her address to the House of Commons.

Despite prior convictions, Masood had never been convicted of any terrorism offences. Also, he was not the subject of any current investigations.
