The United States (US) government has started rolling out its Global Entry Program (GEP) for Indians. The GEP enables expedited clearance of pre-approved, low-risk travellers.

Indian Ambassador to the US Navtej Sarna became the first Indian national to enter the country under the GEP, making India the eleventh country whose citizens can enroll for the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) initiative.

On landing at select airports, enrolled members can clear immigration through automated kiosks instead of queuing up at counters to meet an immigration officer. Members only need to allow the system to read their passports, capture their fingerprints and complete a customs declaration. A receipt is then issued and the passenger can proceed.

CBP is excited to offer our flagship Trusted Traveller programme to Indian citizens. By expanding Global Entry eligibility, CBP is transforming the international arrivals process, making it more secure, efficient and welcoming, for the millions of Indian citizens who visit the United States each year.
Acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection Kevin McAleenan

Global Entry kiosks are now available across 53 airports and 15 pre-clearance locations.
