Lucknow Metro: After Recognition In Netherlands, LMRC Receives RoSPA-Gold Award For Safe Project Execution

Lucknow Metro Phase 1A Project is in line to receive the International ‘Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)-Gold’ award in the Project/ Infrastructure category in 2019, Rail Analysis reports. RoSPA is a British Charity organisation aiming to promote the safety and prevention of accidents in project execution around the world.

The award would be presented to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) in recognition of its safety practices and achievements in helping staff/customers/ clients/contractors during the execution of the project. The award will be presented at a ceremony on 12 September 2019 at Glasgow, UK.

MD of LMRC Kumar Keshav said that the award is a “recognition of extremely hard work by the team of LMRC including the Contracting Agencies, Consultants and Construction workmen in delivering this complex project to the best of international standards.”

He adds the award highlights LMRC’s commitment in “highest standards of health and safety in the Project execution”.

LMRC is the first metro rail corporation to win this prestigious award in the Gold Category. Until now, the award in India was won by various private agencies in infrastructure projects and Oil and Gas Industries in the public sector.

Recently, the corporation was recognised and acknowledged at the National Day of Rail in Holland for the spirit of achieving the desired goal to construct the 23 km-long Lucknow Metro project Phase-1 (A) before schedule.
