The Uddhav Thackeray led Maharashtra government has announced that it will probe pro-India tweets posted by eminent personalities following singer Rihanna's comments on the farm laws, NDTV has reported.
"It has been revealed that there were same posts by celebrities and at the same time. Hence it will be investigated why it has happened", Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been quoted as saying.
As per reports, this step has been taken following a complaint by the Congress.

The Congress reportedly had demanded an investigation into whether the BJP had pressurised the celebrities to post their tweets.
Rihanna who sided with the controversial protesters sitting at the Delhi Border had elicited an united response from many eminent celebrities including luminaries like Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar.

Indiaâs sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants.

Both Sachin and Lata ji asserted an Indian pushback against foreign and domestic propaganda which is being perpetrated against the farm reforms.
Many members of the Indian cricket team, actors and celebrities also echoed a similar view.
This was in a direct reaction to comments made against the farm laws by foreign celebrities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg. It was later revealed via a toolkit that these comments were made as part of an internationally coordinated campaign. Rihanna herself is said to have copy pasted a tweet written in the toolkit.
