As per a complaint filed by a Thane based Civil Engineer, he was brutally beaten by Maharashtra NCP Minister Jitendra Awhad’s men in presence of police constable at the latter’s bungalow, Times of India has reported.
This incident took place on Sunday night (5 April) after the victim posted a morphed photo of the NCP Minister with a cheeky caption “I protest against the person who edited the photo”, in retaliation against Awhad’s call to boycott Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 9 Minutes at 9 PM initiative.
Ahwad had vociferously slammed the Prime Minister’s initiative while asking whether it was some kind of a joke.
In the complain the victim alleges that two police constables and a few plain-clothed individuals came to his house at around 11.50 PM, asking him to come to the police station.
But when he went downstairs they suddenly snatched his bike keys and forced him inside an SUV. He was subsequently taken to Ahwad’s bungalow and beaten with sticks, bamboos belts and rods by around 15-20 people.
The victim alleges that some of the goons even wanted to kill him but the cops asked them not to hit him on his head.
The minister is then said to have called him up, demanding that he apologise for the morphed image and delete the post. He was then taken to the bungalow’s gate and beaten up again while being filmed.
Following the victims’s complaint a case has been registered against unknown individuals pertaining to kidnapping, rioting, assault and issuing threats. Cops are yet to make any arrests. Awhad has denied all allegations.
