In the aftermath of the party’s disappointing show in the Lok Sabha polls, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has sacked her party’s election coordinators for six states, and has also ordered the removal of presidents of two state units, reports The New Indian Express.

The states whose election coordinators have been sacked are Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan,Odisha and Gujarat.

State presidents of the BSP’s Delhi and Madhya Pradesh units have also been removed from their positions.

The BSP chief is said to have called for a meeting of the party’s office bearers from the states of Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan in Delhi tomorrow (3 June).

Mayawati’s BSP only managed to win 10 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, that too all from Uttar Pradesh. This was even after her party had entered into a pre-poll alliance known as the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ with the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal.
