A sexual harassment complaint filed against T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai was retracted just a few hours later by the complainant, Deccan Chronicle has reported. The woman had earlier claimed in a letter to the senior police inspector that Kumar sexually exploited her in exchange for work in his company.

However, on Thursday (17 January) she wrote to the police again saying that she had approached the authorities against Bhushan Kumar out of frustration, malice and depression and that her earlier allegations were ‘hostile’.

“I had no such intention to malign his (Bhushan Kumar) reputation and will not make any false statement and allegation against him in future,” read her letter.

According to a police official, the original complaint which was made on 16 January (Wednesday) was handwritten while Thursday’s withdrawal was neatly typed.

Furthermore, the woman also asked Bhushan Kumar’s uncle Krishan Kumar to withdraw an extortion complaint which he had filed against her. Earlier, a statement from T-Series said that Krishan filed a complaint with the police as the same woman was trying to extort money from him and threatening him of false sexual assault complaint.
