The administration in Khujner of Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh has imposed section 144 in the whole city after clashes between two groups during the Republic Day celebrations.
The miscreants also attacked schoolkids who were dancing on a song of the Gadar movie, reports Bhaskar.
According to the report, children were preforming a dance in their Khunjer school on a popular song to celebrate Republic Day.
During the performance, some people reportedly started shouting anti-national slogans. Following this, a controversy erupted at the spot. The whole scene turned into a chaos in a matter of moments. Some of the miscreants also broke the the chairs at the function venue.
The report claims that during the chaos, members belonging to a particular community reached the spot and attacked the schoolkids using weapons.
As per the report, many children were hurt during the incident and the police had to save them by forming a safety circle around them.
Following the incident, section 144 was imposed in the city. “A clash broke out between two groups during Republic Day function held in Rajgarh district's Khujner. However, the situation has been brought under control by police," said Prashant Khare, Superintendent of Police, as reported by ANI.
More than 12 people from both sides were injured in the incident. Police has registered a case against 16 people on complaints made by both parties and is now pursuing an investigation into the matter.
