Nikki Haley, the outgoing United States Ambassador to the United Nations, has mocked US President Donald Trump for his bragging and cultural ignorance, The New Indian Express has reported.

Haley, 46, is an Indian-American politician and was the governor of South Carolina from 2010 to 2017. She announced her resignation from her position at UN on 9 October.

Haley, speaking at the 2018 Alfred Smith Dinner in New York, made fun of President Trump for many things. She started by a joke in which she referred to the President Trump not taking jokes lightly.

"Everyone in Washington called me with advice about this speech. They all said the same thing, do not under any circumstances make any jokes about the President. So, good night everybody," Nikki said, at which the crowd erupted in laughter.

Haley recalled the moment during the President’s speech in UN where he boasted about his administration accomplishments being better than any other US administration in history.

"The President called me this morning and gave me some good advice, he said if I get stuck for laughs just brag about his accomplishments. It really killed at the UN, I've got to tell you," Haley said on Thursday night.

Nikki also joked about the ongoing feud between Trump and Senator Elizabeth Warren regarding warren’s claimed Native American ancestry.

"I get it, you wanted an Indian woman but Elizabeth Warren failed her DNA test," Haley said in New York.

She also pointed towards the cultural ignorance of the US President when he could not differentiate between Indian-Americans and Native Americans.

"Actually, when the President found out that I was Indian-American he asked me if I was from the same tribe as Elizabeth Warren." said Nikki, poking fun at Trump.
