Facing severe criticism for the return of power cuts across the state after his government came to power, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has put out advertisements in newspapers blaming the previous government, as well as negligence by power department officials for the same, reports Times Now News.
Nath has said that the random power cuts are being caused by ‘man-made obstructions’, and issued a warning to officials of the power department that they would face action for negligence if the problem persists.
“I want to assure that the shortage of power is not the reason for power cuts that are occurring in the state for the past few days. The reason is that no improvements were made in the past and man-made obstructions were created in smooth supply of power,” read Nath’s statement in an advertisement.
When asked to clarify over what was meant by the phrase ‘man-made obstructions’, Nath’s edia manager said that ‘BJP-minded people’ were responsible for the problem.
Ironically, power cuts had largely disappeared from the state under the BJP government of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
