The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has been sanctioned a seven-hour block by the Central Railway on Sunday (9 December), to shift a 1400-ton truss over the Diva-Panvel line which is a busy southern and Konkan route. This is said to be the longest of all nine blocks, reports Times Of India.
The truss will connect Amandoot and Taloja which are the ninth and tenth stations on the ongoing Metro Line I work which aims at providing connectivity from Belapur to Pendhar spanning a distance of 11.1 km across 11 stations. The line I is the first of four phases intended to provide connectivity to the upcoming international airport.
A winch and a pulley will have to be used to move the truss to a distance of 130 meters from the assembling point.
The truss has already been moved 21 meters in the last three blocks, the weekend block aims for a truss movement of 78 meters. Permission for another block has been obtained for Tuesday (11 December).
