Urging Muslim countries to learn about religion from India to ensure world peace, the Tibetan Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama praised India’s secular and non-violent traditions while interacting with reporters, reports Press Trust Of India.
"There are various religions and traditions in India having population of over 125 crore. Muslim countries should learn from India so that there is peace. There is coordination among all the religions here and due to non-violence principle, modern India is developing," the Dalai Lama said to reporters.
He also commented about the Doklam border tussle between India and China, stating that the two countries should follow the old ‘Hindi-Chini bhai bhai’ slogan and sit down and have talks to resolve the dispute.
Dalai Lama had earlier made news when he had commented that while Europe should help refugees, the latter should ultimately go and rebuild their country. He also added that Europe belongs to Europeans.
