The Hubble Space Telescope of NASA has captured a formation of galaxies that look like a smiling face, reports TimesNowNews.
The American space agency posted a picture on its Instagram handle that shows two yellow orbs (eye shaped celestial body) above an arc of light, painting a smiley face in space.
"The lower, arc-shaped galaxy has the characteristic shape of a galaxy that has been gravitationally lensed, its light has passed near a massive object en route to us, causing it to become distorted and stretched out of shape," NASA said.
NASA attributed the massive resolution of the telescope's camera for its ability to identify and learn about the regions of star formation.
The smiling face was identified in the galaxy cluster SDSS J0952+3434 and was captured using the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) of the Hubble Space Telescope.
Hubble Space Telescope had returned to normal operations on 26 October after successfully recovering a backup gyroscope replacing a failed one in October.
Initially primed to last 15 years, Hubble has been contributing to scientific discoveries for more than 28 years.
