A New Delhi based devotee of Lord Sri Venkateshwara has donated Rs ten crore to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Friday (26 February), reports The Times Of India.

PASCO Company CEO Sanjay Passi handed over the DD for the sum to TTD officials at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside Tirumala temple.

The devotee has requested TTD to utilise Rs nine crore for SVBC Trust and Rs one crore for SV Sarvashreyas (Balamandir) Trust. Some officials said that it could be the first time in a decade that TTD has received such a massive amount in cash from just one devotee.

"We have been visiting the Tirumala temple since 2006. We wanted to strengthen the various Dharmic activities of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams by donating Rs ten crore," Sanjay Passi told reporters.

With nine crores from the Delhi based devotee, Sri Venkateswara Bhakti channel (SVBC) has garnered a whopping Rs 25 crore in donations since it went ad free recently.

TTD is one of the richest Hindu temples in the world. With over 14,000 employees and an annual budget of almost Rs 3,000 crore, TTD is one of most influential Hindu institutions in the country that is under government control.
