On the other hand, Delhi Police's FIR on violence at ITO mentions the sequence of the incident. It mentions that the farmers started coming towards Central Delhi by ignoring the constant requests to maintain law and order.
The FIR also mentions the incident where a farmer died after his tractor overturned. It says that the protesting farmers came there with tractors and attempted to hit Police officials. It adds that police had a close shave and left from the spot, and later they got to know that the farmer had succumbed to the injuries.
In the violence caused by the farmer rally, over 100 police personnel were injured as well public property was damaged. Many routes, Delhi Metro stations, Connaught Place had to be closed down. Additional paramilitary forces were deployed and internet access was restricted in several areas. Today (27 January) also, several routes remain closed.
