Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is making adequate arrangements to meet the requirements of huge number of devotees that will visit the famed shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on New Year’s Eve, reports Deccan Chronicle.

To meet the rush, TTD has taken some steps like suspension of privilege darshans, and only protocol VIPs are allowed for the VIP darshan on Monday (31 December) and Tuesday (1 January).

The darshan for VIPs will commence from 2 am and routine darshan will begin 4:30 am, said Pola Bhaskar, the Tirumala in-charge joint executive office.

The TTD has also cancelled special darshans and arjitha sevas (solo darshan) for the physically disadvantaged, elderly devotees, donors and parents with infants.

In line with last year’s policy, the TTD’s temple management has cut down heavily on discretionary quota and allow only those VIPs who come in person.

The Vaikuntam queue complex has been inspected by Mr Bhaskar. He held a review meeting for the arrangements and instructed all the departments to work in tandem. The decoration of the premises with electric bulbs and flowers has been done with srivari sevaks, scouts and guides roped in, along with police to assist the devotees.
