Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray who recently became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra by joining hands with Congress and NCP, today (6 January) compared the JNU violence with the dastardly 26/11 terror attack in which 166 innocents died.

While speaking to the media, Uddhav claimed that the JNU violence reminded him of the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai.

“What was the need for attackers to wear masks? They were cowards. I was watching on TV and it reminded me of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. I will not tolerate such attacks in Maharashtra”, Uddhav was quoted as saying.

This remarked was slammed by various social media users who called it an insult to martyrs like Tukaram Omble who laid down their lives fighting the terrorists.

Uddhav who had recently compared the action against violent Jamia university goons with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also demanded that the violent goons in JNU incident be punished.
