In a positive development, nine districts of Madhya Pradesh (MP) have been declared free from COVID-19 by the state government after a review meeting was conducted on Friday (15 May), reports The Hindu.
The nine districts which had earlier reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 but have now been declared free are Barwani, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Sheopur, Alirajpur, Harda, Shahdol, Tikamgarh, and Betul.
It should also be noted that apart from these nine districts, eight districts of the state have not reported any cases of the viral pandemic disease so far. Meanwhile, Damoh district reported its first case of COVID-19 on Friday after a migrant worker who had arrived from Mumbai, tested positive for the Coronavirus infection.
The State has also scaled up the testing capacity. On Friday alone, the administration collected as many as 5,822 swab samples for testing. Apart from this, in total, the State has conducted testing of 93,849 samples so far.
