"No One Can Dethrone AAP From Delhi And Punjab For At Least 50 Years," Claims Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), confidently declared on Sunday (18 June) that the party's government in Delhi and Punjab would remain in power for at least 50 years.

Kejriwal made this statement during a public rally in Rajasthan, which is scheduled for elections this year. He was joined by Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, as the two leaders visited the desert state to promote the "Delhi model of development" of AAP.

“No one can dethrone AAP from Delhi and Punjab for at least 50 years... I request you to vote for AAP (in the upcoming election) so that no one will be able to remove us from Rajasthan for the next 50 years," Kejriwal said at the rally held in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar city.

During his speech, Kejriwal also criticised Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, and accused him of trying to disrupt AAP's rallies.

He said, "When we were coming here, we saw Gehlot Saheb had put up his posters all over Ganganagar and around this stadium… this would not have been necessary if he had worked for the last 5 years."

Kejriwal also raised several issues, including water and the paper leak case, to corner the Gehlot government.

He accused the ruling Congress party of attempting to vandalise the rally and alleged that 15-20 people had come and toppled chairs. He called it an act of cowardice.

Kejriwal stated, “You did not work for 5 years and this is the reason you are trying to ruin AAP rallies.”

With an eye on the upcoming state assembly election, AAP, which secured a national party status after winning five seats in the Gujarat election, is seeking to expand its footprint.

During his address, Kejriwal criticised both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the previous Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) governments at the Centre.

Kejriwal expressed his disappointment with the two parties, BJP and Congress, that have ruled the country for the past 75 years. He blamed them for the country's poverty, backwardness, and lack of education.

He stated: "I have a plan to make India the No. 1 country in the world...with that, we can eradicate poverty from the country in these 10 years." He appealed to the voters to choose AAP in Rajasthan.
