Over 760 People Arrested In J&K Since Abrogation Of Article 370 For Stone Pelting And Causing Law And Order Problems

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (19 November) that since the deoperationalisation of Article 370 by the Parliament on 5-6 August, as many as 765 individuals have been arrested by the security forces for stone-pelting or disrupting law and order, reports Asian News International (ANI).

MoS Reddy informed the Lower House that the aforementioned arrests were made under a total of 190 cases which took place between 5 August and 15 November. He apprised the House that a large number of troublemakers have been identified, and preventive measures have been initiated against them.

The minister also shared that the investigations by security agencies have revealed the involvement of various separatist organisations and activists linked to Hurriyat into the incidents of stone-pelting in the Kashmir Valley.

Apprising the House about the action initiated in this regard, MoS Reddy shared that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charge-sheets against 18 individuals in terror-funding cases so far.
