In a raid on an Axis Bank branch in Noida today (15 December), more than Rs 60 crore was found deposited in 20 fake accounts, reported the Times of India. These accounts were reportedly opened in the name of low-income workers and labourers.

This branch of Axis Bank in Noida came under the Income Tax department’s radar after a local jeweller deposited his income in the bank branch after selling gold worth Rs 600 crore.
Axis Bank branches in the National Capital Region have been raided before as well, and fake accounts discovered.
