Union Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal has urged the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar to take up the issue of genocide of Sikhs, Hindus in Pakistan.

Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP from Bathinda took to Twitter taking note of the back-to-back cases of abduction and forced conversion of a Sikh and a Hindu girl in Pakistan’s Sindh.

Badal’s tweet comes after another SAD leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared a viral video in which the Sikh girl’s family were pleading for the safe return of their daughter. The family alleged that the girl was kidnapped by six men at gunpoint on 27 August.

“From 2.5 lakh Sikhs & Hindus in Pak in 1947, the figure has come down to 7,000 now. Pakistani state is indulging in systematic genocide against Sikhs and Hindus. I urge @DrSJaishankar ji to file a case in the ICJ also. Those guilty of genocide of should be made to stand trial and punished,” she said in another tweet.
