Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have create a clone mobile application resembling the Aarogya Setu app to hack the mobile phones of Indian Army personnel, ANI has reported.
The Pakistani spy agencies have developed a malicious app which goes by the file name “Aarogya Setu.apk”. This was reportedly sent to Whatsapp groups containing Indian Army personnel.
“Inimical intelligence agencies have developed a malicious app by the name Aarogya Setu.apk. Such apps were found to be sent by Pakistan-based Pakistani Intelligence Operatives to WhatsApp groups of Indian Army personnel”, the Army has been qouted as saying.
The Pakistani spies are also said to be targeting Indian Army personnel via social media and also sending them links to download this app. The army as a result has issued an advisory for its personnel to be careful and only download the app from the official Government of India website and Google Play, iOS Apple play stores.
