Pankaj Advani Becomes First Indian To Win Asian Snooker Tour Title Defeating China’s Ju Reti

Pankaj Advani broke another record as he became the first Indian to win the Asian tour after his power-packed performance against China’s Ju Reti, reports the New Indian Express.

The 33-year old snooker player was at the top of his form in the tournament, which followed a new 10-red format and has now sent a strong message ahead of the upcoming snooker world championships. While many players put up excellent performances throughout the second-leg, it looked like Advani was most comfortable with the new format as he registered one-sided victories in all of his games.

Advani dropped two frames each in only a league match and the last-16 knockout ties. Every other game saw Advani concede one frame or none. The final was no different for him. Advani won the first two frames. Reti shows few signs of a comeback during the third frame, but Advani used his experience and halted all hopes of a comeback.

Now, Advani’s focus will shift to billiards as he is a fortnight away from obtaining title as the defending Champion in both the sports at the IBSF World Billiards and Snooker Championship.

Final Score: Pankaj Advani (India) defeated Ju Reti (China) 6-1.
