Reiterating his ever-growing stature at the global stage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been declared as the world’s most powerful person of 2019 by a leading British magazine, reports Zee News.

The poll conducted by the British Herald magazine featured the names of US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and China President Xi Jinping.

Modi won the poll, bagging 30.9 per cent of the votes. In the meantime; Putin, Trump and Jinping secured 29.9 per cent, 21.9 per cent and 18.1 per cent of votes respectively.

The above four candidates were selected by an expert panel for the final round out of more than 25 global leaders nominated in the reader’s poll.

Not so surprisingly, the website of the magazine crashed when too many voters attempted to vote their preferred leaders at once, generating a whopping three million hits in a week.

PM Narendra Modi will be featured on the cover page of British Herald Magazine in July which will be released on 15th July 2019. The magazine had earlier featured Jacinda Ardern in May-June issue and Vladimir Putin in Mar-April issue.
