Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on a variety of issues as he addressed the nation through his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday. This episode was particularly significant, given that it came only a day before the presentation of the Union Budget.

PM Modi lauded India’s vaccine rollout process and particularly condemned the violence in the farmers’ tractor rally on the Republic Day in the national capital.

After applauding the Indian cricket team for this incredible success in the tour to Australia, the leader remarked, “Amidst all this, the country was saddened by the insult to the Tricolour on January 26 in Delhi. We have to infuse times to come with new hope. Last year, we displayed exemplary patience and courage. This year too, we have to work hard to attain our resolves.”

The 70-year-old also asked Indian youngsters to write on India’s freedom struggle as the country will celebrate 75 years of independence from British rule in 2022. Pondering upon the new farm laws and the government’s vision for the agricultural sector, Modi said, “The government is committed to modernizing agriculture and is also taking many steps in that direction. The efforts of the government shall also continue in future.”

PM Modi has regularly talked up the need to drive innovation for the benefit of the lowest strata of the Indian society. On similar terms, he appreciated traders belonging to Hyderabad’s Bowenpally sabzi mandir for producing electricity from rotting vegetables. “This is the power of innovation,” the Prime Minister was quoted in Hindustan Times.
