Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Saturday (21 December) did a performance review of various ministries in the last six months under the second tenure of his government, NDTV reported.
In a long meeting, different ministries made presentations highlighting various projects and policies undertaken by them, according to the sources in the government. In the coming time the focus would be on rural development, agriculture, and the social sector, the sources added.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers was held independently this time, differing from its usual schedule of taking place after the cabinet meeting every month. The sources also told that the regular cabinet meeting was likely to take place on 24 December.
PM Modi, during cabinet meetings for past few weeks, has been reviewing the progress made by various ministries in implementing the centre’s policies.
The Modi government has completed over six months since coming back to power with an improved mandate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
