Interacting with senior brass of the police forces from various States and Union Territories (UTs), Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Sunday (8 December) urged them to strive towards inspiring a sense of confidence among the people, especially women, reports Asian News International (ANI).
PM Modi pressed on the senior police officers as an imperative, the onus to enthuse the spirit of confidence to the lowest level of the hierarchy, from State to district to the police stations.
PM Modi was speaking at the 54th Conference of the Directors General of Police and inspectors General of Police which is being held in the Maharashtra State's Pune city. At the event, PM Modi also lauded the families of the police forces who stand firmly behind them, and underscored that their contribution must not be forgotten.
At the conference, PM Modi also received a presentation from various State police forces and mentioned that a comprehensive list of all best practices could be prepared and adopted by all States and UTs.
