Prashant Kishor's IPAC Survey Paints Troubling Picture For Mamata In Bengal Ahead Of 2021 Polls

Prashant Kishor’s political strategist firm Indian-Political Action Committee (I-PAC) has some unpleasant news for the current Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress dispensation, according to a Sunday Guardian report.

The firm has conducted three assessments across 294 assembly constituencies from April-August this year.

The first survey was organised before the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 in March, whilst the last one was done in the third week of August. The second assessment was arranged in June. TMC was doing “good” in 110 seats in March.

After the mishandling of the pandemic and Cyclone Amphan, they positively stand to be doing “good” in only 78 seats. As of now, the I-PAC study states that 116 seats are now in the “battleground” zone, where the party will face a stiff challenge from the other opponents primarily led by the BJP.

100 seats have become “difficult” for the ruling party, suggesting that Banerjee is unlikely to secure a victory in these constituencies. I-PAC has formed a Super “100” team. An individual each has been tasked to change these constituencies termed as “difficult” to winnable seats before the announcement of the elections next year.

However, official sources from the agency have denied the conduction of any such assessments.
