President Ramnath Kovind who embarked on his three-day visit to Vietnam paid a visit to the popular My Son temple complex in the country, The Tribune has reported . The complex accommodates deities such as Shiva, Krishna and Vishnu and has been known for its influence of Indian culture and heritage. Later on, he planted a sapling in the premises of the complex.

My Son has temples dedicated to Hindu deities that were constructed somewhere between the 4th and 14th century by the Champa kings. Located in Central Vietnam, the complex falls under the Quang Nam Province near the village of Duy Phu. The complex is surrounded by the mountains on either sides.
“President Kovind visited My Son temple complex in Vietnam, which was the political and cultural capital of Champa Kingdom. The temple complex has Indian influence and houses Hindu deities like Krishna, Vishnu and Shiva. He planted a tree sapling to mark his visit,” the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
Furthermore, he was quoted as saying, “Confluence of Civilisations! President Kovind appreciates the artefacts of Cham Museum in Da Nang city Vietnam. Sculptures of Champa Kingdom are displayed there which are highly influenced by Hinduism.”
