Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the occasion of International Yoga Day (21 June) insulted the elite dog unit of the Indian Army in an effort to take potshots at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government.

Today morning, pictures of Indian Army’s Labradors doing yoga along with their trainers went viral on social media. Dogs belonging to BSF and Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) were also captured practising yoga.

While the reactions were universally positive, Rahul Gandhi decided to use their pictures to mock the BJP’s “New India” plank.

This did not go down well with many social media users who heavily criticised the Congress president for mocking the efforts of the dogs and their trainers.

BJP’s young MP Tejaswi Surya too slammed Rahul Gandhi for what he called was an insult to Indian Army, the elite dog unit and Yoga as well.
