After opening the bids for the redevelopment of Gwalior, Amritsar, Sabarmati and Nagpur railway stations which received 32 bid applications, Piyush Goyal led Indian Railways is now set to append three more stations to the pipeline, reports Financial Express.
The Indian Railways Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) has invited the Request for Proposal (RFP) for a mixed-use development of the land parcels at Chandigarh railway station, and New Delhi's Anand Vihar and Bijwasan railway stations.
The RFPs have been invited on a lease hold rights basis, and applicants have time till 24 August 2020 to place in their proposals.
It should be noted that apart from the aforementioned railway stations, Gandhinagar railway station in Gujarat and Habibganj railway station in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal are already undergoing major redevelopment which is set to be completed by the end of this year.
Once completed, the two railway stations will offer airport like world-class facilities with the station in Gandhinagar also boasting of a multi-storey five-star hotel atop it.
