Rajini Fever To Hit China: 2.0 To Be Released In 10,000 Theatres

Director Shankar’s 2.0 has grossed more than Rs 250 crore in box office domestically within five days of release, and the film will be released for Chinese audience in 10,000 theatres in next year May, Mint has reported .

The sequel of 2010 ‘Enthiran’ 2.0 is attracting fans to the theatre as early as 4 am. Being one of the most expensive films made in India with a budget of Rs 550 crore, the movie has adopted 3D and VFX technologies. Rajinikanth acted in two roles as scientist Vaseegaran and an upgraded robot Chitti. Akshay Kumar plays the villain in the movie.

Producers of the movie have partnered with HY media, a Chinese film producer and distributor for releasing the movie in China.

“Dubbed and subtitled versions of is slated to be released in China in 10,000 theatres with 56,000 screens (including 47,000 3D screens) in May 2019, the widest 3D release for any foreign film in history,” said the producers in a statement on Twitter.

The film grossed Rs 250 crore in combined Hindi, Tamil and Telugu which was released in about 7,000 theatres across India. Worldwide revenue of the movie is over Rs 400 crore.
