The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK) trust, which has been set up to look after the construction and management of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, has received around Rs 41 crore in donations ahead of the Bhoomi Pujan event on Wednesday (5 August), reports Times of India.
According to the report, the Mandir trust has a kitty of about Rs 41 crore. However, this does not include donations made on Wednesday by religious leaders including Swami Chiddanand Saraswati of the Parmarth Niketan, Swami Avdheshanand Giri of the Juna Akhada and Baba Ram Dev Of Patanjali Yogpeeth, and other dignitaries that arrived in Ayodhya.
“The total donation to the trust stood at Rs 30 crore when the logbook was last seen on Tuesday. Another Rs 11 crore was donated by Morari Babu which makes it about Rs 41 crore. However, the amount doesn’t include other donations made on Wednesday,” Swami Govind Dev Giri, treasurer of the trust, was quoted as saying.
The donations for the Ram temple construction kept on pouring in even during the Covid-19 pandemic, the seer said.
The trust recieved donations to the tune of Rs 4.60 crore since the Lockdown 1 was imposed in March, sources was quoted as saying.
Besides, people are also contributing for the temple through the net banking option that was rolled out by the trust early this year.
