Newly appointed Indian Army Chief M M Naravane when asked about the feasibility of military operations in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) boldly asserted that the armed forces are ready to target the region if asked, India Today has reported.
“We have our forces deployed all across the border, including J&K, and we have various plans, and if required, those plans can be put into action. We will carry out and carry out successfully any task that we are tasked to do”, Naravane was quoted as saying.
Naravane also confirmed the possibility of large-scale actions in PoK if it was in the mandate.
This interaction took place in context of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s statement a few months ago in which he had promised that one day India will have physical jurisdiction over PoK.
