From this Deepavali, the lower-income groups of India will get easy access to 4G technology as Mukesh Ambani led Reliance plans to unveil its ‘Jio Phone Next’ during the Hindu festival.
The affordable smartphone will feature an HD+ display with 720x1,440 pixels resolution, Android 11 (Go edition), Snapdragon 215 SoC, and 2GB RAM.
A 5.5-inch display, 2,500mAh battery supported by 16GB internal memory, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. are other features.
Ushering in a new era of affordability in the smartphone sector, Jio Phone Next is expected to be priced between Rs 3,000 to 3,500.
The ‘Jio Phone Next’ launch was scheduled for September, but the worldwide semiconductor shortage has delayed it and now Reliance Jio plans to reveal it on 4 November, reports LiveMint.
Reliance has partnered with Google to add advanced features such as WhatsApp, browsing and a stable OS to the affordable smartphone.
With an investment of more than Rs 33,000 crore, the American tech giant Google owns 7.7 per cent of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio.
