Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (30 April) expressed his condolences on the demise of senior TV journalist and noted news anchor Rohit Sardana.
Sardana passed away earlier on Friday after he reportedly suffered a heart attack. The reknowned journalist had recently tested positive for Covid-19.
Sardana was well known for his journalism and courage to discuss issues which are normally skirted by the mainstream media.
PM Modi said that Sardana was full of energy and passionate about India's progress. He was kind hearted soul and will be missed by many people, PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister further stated that the noted journalist's "untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world".
PM Modi also offered condolences to Sardana's family, his friends and admirers.

Rohit Sardana is survived by his wife, two daughters, and his parents.
It should be noted that after testing positive for Covid-19, the 41-year-old journalist continued to encourage his colleagues and was amplifying Covid-related posts on Twitter till late Thursday night, reports India Today.
