Rome: PM Modi Meets Representatives Of ISKCON And Italian Hindu Union, Also Interacts With Indologists, Sanskrit Experts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (29 October) met and interacted with the community members from various organisations including the representatives of Italian Congregation for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and Italian Hindu Union.

PM Modi is in Italy from 29 to 31 October to attend the 16th G20 Leaders’ Summit,

"In Rome last evening, I had a great interaction with members of the Indian diaspora in Italy, those who are studying about India and those who have developed a close bond with our nation over the years. It was wonderful to hear their views on diverse topics," PM Modi said in a tweet on Saturday (30 October).

PM Modi met the representatives of Italian Congregation for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and appreciated their contribution in several social activities including spreading the message of Bhagavad Gita in Italy.

He also met the representatives of Italian Hindu Union-Sanatana Dharma Samgha and lauded the role played by them in propagating Indian culture in Italy.

He also interacted with the members of the Sikh community.

Further, he met and interacted with several Indologists and Sanskrit experts from Italian universities.

PM Modi noted their interest in Indian culture, literature and practice of yoga and ayurveda and lauded the role played by them in strengthening the ties between India and Italy.
