The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will not be celebrating the decision of Supreme Court (SC) in the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi land title suit, even if the decision comes in the favour of the Hindu parties, reports The Hindu.

An RSS official lauded the decision and said that it is in line with the Sangh's history in which it has never celebrated its victories. He asked, "Have you seen us celebrating after the abrogation of Article 370?"

Joining the RSS's decision to not celebrate a possible pro-Hindu decision by the Supreme Court, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also decided to maintain restraint and to ensure that such a decision is not portrayed as a victory for the Hindus and a defeat for the Muslims.

The decision by the RSS and the VHP was taken in a two-day meeting of the various organisations affiliated to the Sangh Parivar. The senior leaders of the Sangh Parivar have also expressed confidence that if the decision came in favour of Hindus, then the construction of the temple for Lord Rama could begin as soon as January 2020.
