The screenshots of a personal chats in which Muhammad Aftab was seen abusing a man belonging to a Scheduled Caste community went viral, Uttar Pradesh police arrested the accused within two hours of OP’s post.
In this Facebook profile, Aftab has written that he is the ‘Nagar Adhyaksh’ or city-level head of the Samajwadi Lohia Vahini in Mehmoodabad, Sitapur, and state secretary of the Haj Welfare Society, Uttar Pradesh.
In the screenshot, Aftab can be seen abusing and threatening a member of Scheduled Caste community by the name of his caste. He asks the person to remove the post of the BJP leader, and also said that if found the person in Mehmoodabad, he would ‘halal’ him like a goat.
When the person asked Aftab to talk with decency, Aftab further threatened him that he would see the consequences of chanting ‘Hindu Hindu’ after Samajwadi Party comes to power. He abused a Hindu god, and asked the person multiple times to engage in derogatory-work based on his caste.
The post created much furore on social media with several Twitter users demanding appropriate action against the accused. Within less than two hours of the post, Sitapur Police put out a tweet saying that the accused was arrested and a case registered under IPC Section 295a and 67a of IT Act.
