Legendary singer Asha Bhosle on Friday (31 May) praised Union Minister for Woman and Child Development Smriti Irani for ensuring that she got home safely.
Bhosle recounted that she was stranded in the rush after the swearing-in ceremony and while others turned a blind eye, it was Smriti Irani who noticed her and made sure that she reached her home safely.
Bhosle thus asserted that such a caring nature is the reason why Irani won in Amethi.
“I was stranded in the crazy rush post PM oath ceremony. No one offered to help me except Smriti Irani who saw my plight & made sure I reached home safely. She cares & that’s why she won,” tweeted Bhosle.

Smriti Irani also touched hearts after taking part in the funeral procession of Surendra Singh, her close Amethi aide who was recently shot dead. Smriti gave a shoulder to the mortal remains of Singh and had vowed in front of his family that she will ensure the assailants won’t go unpunished.
