A snake was found inside a VVPAT machine in a polling boot at Kerala’s Kannur during the third phase of voting on Tuesday (23 April), Press Trust of India has reported.
This incident happened at a booth in the Mayyil Kandakkai area of the constituency. Panic spread among the voters and the polling officials following the discovery of the snake and the voting had to be temporarily stopped.
The snake though was soon evicted from his dwelling and voting resumed soon after.
In 2015 wildlife had struck a polling booth in Bihar’s Bakhtiyarpur assembly constituency. It was reported that a monkey had entered a model polling booth and attacked four individuals including two journalists. Nitish Kumar was scheduled to vote at the boot later in the day.
