A 27-year-old student has been arrested in South Africa for eating free KFC meals for a year by claiming that he was sent from the head office of the restaurant chain for quality check, reports India Today.
According to the report, the unidentified man was a student of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. He reportedly ate for free every day for a year from various KFC outlets by repeating the same story every time.
As per a Daily Mail report, he would stroll in smartly dressed with a clipboard and walk into the back of the kitchen before taking notes and sampling food. He would tell the employees that he was sent from the KFC headquarters for quality assurance of the food served in the restaurant.
The news was shared by Kenyan journalist Teddy Eugene on Twitter and soon became viral. In his tweet, Eugene wrote, “South African man arrested for eating at KFC free for a year by saying head office sent him to taste if they are up to standard."
