Stalin Sworn In As Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Along With 33 Ministers, Nehru And Gandhi Part Of The Cabinet

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo MK Stalin today (7 May) took oath as the Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai, reports Hindustan Times.

Stalin was sworn in as the CM of the State by Governor Banwarilal Purohit along with 33 other Ministers from his party. Those sworn in include 19 former Ministers and 15 new ones.

As per a list released by DMK, Stalin will himself hold several key portfolios including the home department, public, general administration, and appointment and transfer of IAS and IPS officials in the State.

Meanwhile, Ma Subramanian has been sworn in as the new Health Minister. KN Nehru has been allotted municipal administration, R Gandhi has been allotted textiles department and Duraimurugan has been allotted water resources.

Other than these, Palanivel Thiagarajan has been appointed the new Finance Minister of the State, while EVL Velu and K Ponmudi have been allocated public works and higher education portfolios, respectively.

It should be noted that Stalin's son Udhayanidhi, who became a first-time MLA after winning from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency, has not been given any Ministry as of now.
