In a positive development in the pursuance on India's Aatmanirbhar aspirations in the high-end communications technology space, state-owned electronics manufacturer ITI is in discussions with Indian companies to provide them with end-to-end 4G and 5G network gears, reports Economic Times.
The company is also looking to utilise its state-of-the-art facilities and capabilities to manufacture equipment for E and V band spectrum which are considered essential for 4G and 5G technologies. It is also planning to manufacture eNodeB and 5G NR (new radio) products in its various plants.
It should be noted that the company has entered into partnerships with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tech Mahindra for the development of 4G and 5G technologies.
The company has also entered into a technology collaboration agreement with a Bengaluru based leading start-up to manufacture enterprise-grade routers for safe data transfer. This is a segment largely dominated by foreign companies.
The company has also diversified into manufacturing of medical electronics devices.
