States, UTs To Get 44.9 Lakh More COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Within Next Three Days: Health Ministry

Over 33.63 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided to the states and union territories (UTs) so far and more than 44 lakh jabs will be provided to them within the next three days, the Health Ministry said on Friday (2 July).

In a statement, the ministry said that the Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category, more than 33.63 crore (33,63,78,220) COVID-19 vaccine doses to states and UTs.

According to the data available on the CoWin vaccination portal, the total number of doses administered so far to 33,56,71,794 people, including 27,63,39,011 people who got their first dose and 5,93,32,783 receiving the second dose.

Furthermore, 44.9 lakh (44,90,000) vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the states and UTs within the next three days, the ministry added.

According to the ministry, under the new phase of the universalisation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, implementation of which started from 21 June, every month 75 per cent of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by the Centre and will be supplied free of cost to states and UTs.
