To enforce the nation wide lockdown due to novel coronavirus outbreak, Mangaluru police in association with Ramakrishna Mission has launched an innovative campaign to create awareness, reports Udayavani.

Those who are found of violating the lockdown rules, are made to hold a placard, "I am guilty. I have violated the lockdown orders” by the police.

This joint effort between the police and members of the Ramakrishna mission has been done as many people are breaking the lockdown rules and are roaming on streets.

This is an initiative to prevent people from stepping onto the roads, Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha said.

Also, a WhatsApp group has been created with the name “Team against Covid-19” to spread awareness on coronavirus and educate people on the importance of social distancing and sanitisation.
