Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav is having sleepless nights. This time, because of dogs. On Monday (4 September) , the New Indian Express reported, Lalu Yadav requested Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) to shift to another ward.

According to the report, Yadav is unable sleep due to the "incessant barking of dogs" near the super specialty ward of the hospital where he is admitted. The barking of dogs, according to RJD legislator Bhola Yadav, is having an adverse effect on his health. "He said Lalu Yadav has requested the hospital authorities to shift him to a paying ward of the RIMS," the report says.

Convicted in the first fodder scam case and sentenced to jail for five years in 2013, Lalu Yadav was convicted in two more cases earlier this year. He was awarded 14 years in jail. Out on provisional bail since May 11, he was asked to surrender by August 30 by the Jharkhand High Court on August 24. The RJD leader surrendered on August 30 and was shifted to RIMS from Birsa Munda Central Jail for treatment the same day.

NDTV reported that Lalu Yadav is afraid of dogs and mosquitoes at the ward. He also said that he has a fear of dengue. As expected, his opponents have taken a dig at Lalu. Janata Dal (United) has said that Bihar janta was afraid of Lalu Yadav during his rule.

According to the same report, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj commented saying that Lalu, after pleading to stay out of courts, is now expressing his fear of mosquitoes and dogs. "Boye ped babul ka, to aam kahan so hoye (you shall reap as you sow)," he said.
